MISSION OF THE

OFFICE OF CHILD & YOUTH PROTECTION

The Office of Child and Youth Protection coordinates the Diocesan commitment to protect children, young people, and vulnerable adults from matters related to abuse.  The office offers comprehensive training for abuse prevention, retreats for abuse survivors, and other resources that will effect meaningful change and provide hope in people’s lives by:

 

 

  • Communicating the concern and message of our Diocesan Vision concerning Youth, foster, affirm and support Youth with safe environments in all of our facilities.

 

  • Restoring trust to our Catholic community.

 

  • Providing training to help prevent child abuse and offer healing programs that give hope.

 

  • Forming relationships and provide guidance to pastors, pastoral coordinators, priest administrators, principals and other parish/school leaders.

 

  • Forming relationships with community organizations.

 

  • Collaborating with other Dioceses and the Secretariat for Child and Youth Protection from the USCCB.
